Sir i am govt reg. contractor. Is gst applicable on the agreement made before gst implemented. And if yes than what should i do if the concerned govt department is not giving me the difference tax. Kindly ans my question sir

The completion of work in which period is important. Suppose you completed 40% of work in pre GST period,then VAT is applicable to that extend.Then,suppose,you jave completed 60 % of the work after 1.7.2017,GST is applicable for that and you need to invoice as per GST law and pay tax for that portion accounting the same in GSTR 3B and GSTR1.Simply speaking,if the entire contract value was INR 10 lakh excluding GST and the rate of GST is 12%,then GST is applicable for INR 6 lakh which would be INR 72000.So are eligible to get 672000 from the government Department to whome you rendered service after 1.7.2017 and eligible to get INR 4 lakh plus tax applicable in pre GST era.

Hi. When the agreement was signed is not directly relevant. Here time of supply comes into place. If you perform service after GST implementation it would attract GST Above is limited view
