What is the difference between GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C?

GSTR-9 is an Annual return filing form required to be filed by every registered taxpayer with no impact of the turnover threshold limit.

While the GSTR 9C is a reconciliation statement under sub-section (2) of section 44, needed for every registered taxpayer having turnover during a financial year exceeding prescribed limit (Rs. 2 cr.) to get its accounts audited by a chartered accountant and further submitting annual accounted duly audited under the GST Audit u/s 35(5) CGST ACT.
