How is it decided to give HSN code in 2,4,6 digits?

Can you please specify the exact that how it is decided to give HSN code in 2,4,6 digits Please tell me for what turn over what digit should be given?

HSN code does not depend upon the turnover. it shows the nature of the product, in simple it is a name given to elaborate the whole product…eg. 100630, indicates – chapter 10 (cereal), heading 6 (rice), and subheading 30 (semi milled or wholly milled rice whether or not polished or glazed.)

Under GST, the followings are the basis for providing HSN Code in tax invoices; Turnover –

1) 0-1.50 crore – NA.

2) 1.51-5.00 Crore-2 digits.

3) more than Rs. 5Cr- 4 digits.
